What changed on November 3, 2026

Canadian work experience now counts for more.

IRCC replaced the Canadian work experience factor with a new labour market integration factor. Older calculators may still show the previous scoring.

+70

High-wage Canadian experience

12+ months in an occupation paying at least 2× the median wage adds 70 points on top of years of experience. 1.5× adds 40, and 1.3× adds 20.

≤100

Job offers are back, for high-wage roles

A qualifying offer in a high-wage occupation is worth 100, 70 or 50 points. It counts instead of your Canadian experience points if it's higher, never on top.

150

New cap for the factor

Labour market integration tops out at 150 points without a spouse and 140 with one.
